“BMW” In Partnership With “DOVU”’ Have Launched The Test Of A New Blockchain Program For Mileage Tracking”

A new blockchain program is being tested by BMW for mileage tracking purposes. The automobile giant has launched a startup innovation program and through this program, it plans to use the blockchain to track leased vehicles. BMW and DOVU (A blockchain startup) have come together in partnership to carry out this program.

Alex Morris, DOVU’s head of product explained the concept saying that the program will help BMW get a clearer picture of the activities carried out by it’s vehicles. He further stated

“What we’re doing is we’re essentially trying to build out this circular economy on the DOVU platform. {Drivers} can earn tokens, but down the line they’ll also be able to spend tokens on services – for example, they might be able to get replacement tires or something like that using the DOVU ecosystem. The partner, in this case BMW, defined the categorization of the reward and that’s defined in a smart contract. As long as the parameters are met for the smart contract, they’ll receive tokens”

These tokens will be awarded through mileage which the driver will log weekly and stored on DOVU’s blockchain.
